12seconds in TweetDeck
TweetDeck v0.18 introduces the video status update service 12seconds.tv into the TweetDeck "landscape". We have worked very closely with the 12seconds guys and the first iteration of their API to allow you to add a 12seconds column to your TweetDeck. When you click on the 12seconds button you'll be asked for a 12seconds username - if you don't have one you can enter ALLUPDATES to get a column of every 12seconds video clip that gets posted. Alternatively you could email tweetdeck@12seconds.tv and you'll receive an invite!
As with the other columns in TweetDeck, your 12seconds column will auto-update whenever you or those people you follow add a video clip. Simply click on the thumbnail to open the video in the TweetDeck video player, click on the x button to close the player, click on the video title to go to the webpage for that clip (where you can see any comments) and finally click on the username to go to their 12seconds channel page. Not only that but all NEW tweets you receive which contain a 12seconds link will open directly in the video player.
Over the coming weeks, as the 12seconds API progresses you WILL be able to record your clips from within TweetDeck. Have a look here for the official announcement of the 12seconds API: http://12seconds.wordpress.com/2008/08/21/api/
Also in this version is the addition of a third configurable background color for the text input areas.
Don't forget, if you want a 12seconds invite just email tweetdeck@12seconds.tv
