TweetDeck v0.17b Details

Ever since I released TweetDeck out into the wild (which was only just under two months ago) a lot of you have expressed just how much you dislike (or hate in a few cases) the dark "brooding" colour scheme and how much you would like to change them. Well your day has come. TweetDeck v0.17 is not a huge update - it's all about the colours.

Simply open the settings window (click on the s button top left) and you'll see a new tab for Colors and Fonts. You may find using background colors that are different shades of the same colour look the best. If you want to view extended character sets within TweetDeck, to view Chinese tweets for example, then click on the International Font button and the font will be swapped instantly.

Other updates in this version include:

  • Added Added links on #hashtags in tweet body
  • Added Added hex.io url shortener
  • Added Added twurl url shortener
  • Added Added POPrl url shortener
  • Updated summize data feed address to search.twitter.com
  • Fixed hover name when minimised to tray
  • Fixed initial logout problem - some bugs remain
  • Fixed Update Framework error caused by small update interval

I can't talk about TweetDeck v0.18 but it's going to be interesting. See you VERY soon.

Come on, you can talk about v0.18... who's gonna stop you. I'll talk about it. v0.18 has tweet mapping and has a setting that disables and enalbes tweets being sent to your phone on startup and shutdown and when your laptop sleeps or hibernates.

Come on, seriously, make it do that!

Looks like the auto-update isn't working in Ubuntu Hardy.

I like it.
I especially like the grouping. It would be nice to have the option to remove/Hide, the "All tweets" column, and to have searches to be grouped". I'd like to have 3 columns, people, software, and searches.

Thanks for the update guys. Looking good. Feature request if I may... how about a "pause" toggle to hold of on update All Tweets column? Sometimes you just want read and go to different linked tweets before moving on. Although currently, I scroll 1-down below the latest tweet... but just a thought.

Can't wait till 0.18

Thanks for the color update. Slight bug in that the text color is not remembered after closing.

I've just installed tweetdeck and absolutely love it for the grouping capability. One thing though--not all my friends are showing up on the list to check off. I've verified the obvious things like checking Twitter to make sure they are indeed on my follow list, and I'm even on theirs as well. Any ideas there?
